Cheick Keita`s agent, Vasco Morelli, has gone on record to say that the 20-year-old`s move to Birmingham City was one that will help him move onto a bigger club.

Keita is highly rated by many and Morelli says that his transfer to Blues ‘has been a necessary step to get to a big club in the future.`

This is most likely the intentions of those in the Blues camp as well who now have the opportunity to develop the youngster and potentially sell him on for a lot more than they bought him for.

Keita, who signed a three-and-a-half year deal at St Andrews, is yet to appear in a Blues shirt yet after signing just over a week ago but will rival Jonathan Grounds for the left back spot.

It was reported that Juventus and Roma both had Keita on their radar so it is no surprise that his agent is looking at what the future could potentially hold for his client.

  • Hold your horses morello , BCFC are a big club we have been dragged down after a good period of playing in Europe and beating a top club like Arsenal ..Tut tut …Zola has strengthened the squad to the point whereby in many fans eyes we have a strong squad with only another qaulity striker needed to be ready for a challenge for the top tier ….But as I said in this window we will be £3 million short in total and it seems that way but hey we can get that player on the way up ….COME ON

  • If he has the quality and potential to go on to bigger things then why should we worry as long as we get to be a bigger and better club along the way. Bring on a few more I say. Even the biggest cubs in the world have no guarantee of keeping a player anymore if the price is right.

  • I’ve seen some of his YouTube videos and he looks the real deal. The only way he’ll move to better things is if he plays well for us. With a long contract with another year option we can demand good money if anyone wants him. It’s a win win situation for blues.

  • Well well well until he kicks a ball this clime as no ground. I understand is agent sees us as a stepping stone but he needs to know this is a big club in its own wright. But if his agent can get us 40mil+ then I for one am happy for us to be a stepping stone. He will need premier experience and championship first team football first. KRO
