Blues managing director Karren Brady has left hospital following her successful operation on a brain aneurysm.

After undergoing the surgery last week and spending a short time under routine observation in intensive care, Brady has returned home to recover.

She is expected to return back to work in a few weeks, while husband Paul Peschisolido has returned to Derby after taking a short time off to look after his wife.

A short statement on the official club website said: ‘Karren is expected to remain at home for the next few weeks before returning to take the helm at the club.

She would like to thank everybody that sent in messages of support for her and her family during this difficult time.’

Meanwhile, manager Steve Bruce told Sky Sports of his joy at the news:

‘We all eat and breathe football, but when somebody’s not well it puts it in perspective.

‘But she’s okay. She’s recovering well but we’ve got to respect she needs time to recover.

‘The most important thing to anybody is their health, it gets on top of you now and again but she’s back recovered and we wish her well.’

All at Vital Blues would like to wish Karren a speedy recovery, and look forward to seeing football’s first lady back at the club soon.
