‘Just Received His Free Bus Pass’ – Some Birmingham Fans Joke As Player Turns 34

|

Lee Camp is expected to be in goal again tonight after retaining his place against the Swans following his debut in the Carabao Cup.

It is also the goalkeeper’s 34th birthday, and the club’s official Twitter account marked the occasion by tweeting their congratulations.

Fans on Twitter were, let’s say, slightly sarcastic with their replies but it was all in good jest:

This gif particularly caught my eye:

While Camp wasn’t overworked against Swansea on his home debut, he was solid and didn’t make any mistakes. Considering our away record, he will likely be working a lot harder tonight to keep our opponents out.

Although our no.1 is certainly not my preferred choice to be in goal, I’m hoping he repays Garry Monk’s trust in him with a fair few good displays over the next few weeks.

He is likely only a short-term fix between the posts but like with every player who wears the shirt, we should be getting right behind him.
