Jones on the verge of permanent Vale move

Blues are in negotiations over the sale of striker Alex Jones to Port Vale where he has been on loan this season.

Jones has scored eight goals in 13 appearances for Vale who are keen to make the deal permanent.

Jones was signed from neighbours West Bromwich Albion last year with a view on developing his talent. But it’s clear that Gary Rowett doesn’t see his future at St. Andrews.

The 22 year old has never played a first team game for Blues and almost signed for New Zealand side Wellington Phoenix at the start of this year, but that fell through due to administrative problems with his visa.
