While we embark upon another international break and ponder how we`ve ended up living in a world where Jordan Henderson is the England captain, here is some Blues stuff you may have missed to tide you over.

Jonathan Grounds update

Grounds was an ever-present in the Blues team until he suffered medial knee ligament damage during the win at Sheffield Wednesday back in February which was expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.

However, Garry Monk confirmed yesterday that the 30-year-old is ‘working ‘on the grass’ again and has an outside chance of returning before May.

Embrace the challenge

Garry Monk has told his players to ’embrace the challenge not fear it` as they attempt their latest survival route.

The Blues boss told the Birmingham Mail– “We know if we do our job and get enough points then yes we can get safe. It`s a big ask, a big challenge, but our mentality is to go and embrace it not fear it”.

He continued – “It can be Groundhog Day, going through the motions, the same thing, yes we are committed and fighting but, you kind of expect the outcome to be negative. Or you can look at it as a challenge and meet it head on. That`s kind of what we did. We set up in that way for these first games trying to promote that front foot. If we are going to do this we have to take the initiative”.

Bolton away

At the time of writing, there is less than 400 tickets remaining for Blues` trip to the Macron Stadium on Tuesday 3 April. A member of staff at the ticket office this morning told me ‘they will definitely sell out`.

The team has been in or around the bottom three all season with only two away wins to their name so to take 4,000 to Bolton on a Tuesday night is incredible support.
