Denny Johnstone has joined Macclesfield Town on a two month loan deal in a bid to get more first team football.
Birmingham have loaned out youngster Johnstone after Rowett was satisfied that the striker would be unable to break into the first team at the moment.
Clayton Donaldson, Wes Thomas, Lee Novak and possibly Nikola Zigic would all be in the way of Johnstone.
The Scottish born striker will now have two months to get himself among the goals and to stake a claim for a first team spot back at Birmingham. Much like other youngsters have done in the past; Koby Arthur and Demarai Gray are both good examples.
Macc have a busy schedule coming up and there is going to be lots of opportunities for Johnstone to get involved and it seems like a promising move for him.
Birmingham signed the former Celtic youngster in the summer and he certainly seems like a potential first team player should he get out and get games.
