Jake Jervis made his debut for Preston and scored when they took on Rochdale on Monday.

The 20 year old joined North End on loan last weekend and went straight into the side that played at Spotland on the Monday.

It took him just 16 minutes to open the scoring for his temporary club although the game finished 1-1.

Jervis was happy with his first game and goal, telling the PNE official website: ‘I really enjoyed my debut.

‘It was a hard day’s graft against Rochdale but the lads showed great spirit to earn a draw after going down to ten men in unfortunate circumstances.

‘I have a knack of scoring when I make my debut but it was brilliant to score the opening goal of the game and hopefully I can now progress and help Preston North End by scoring goals.”
