Jacques Maghoma: Vital Blues’ Player of the Season

|

It’s official – Jacques Maghoma is the Vital Blues ‘Player of the Season’. The 30-year-old was polled against Jota and Maikel Kieftenbeld in the first round of votes via our Twitter page and came out on top with 74% of the votes.

In the final he was pitted against Maxime Colin and won with an overwhelming 85% of votes.

In what has been a largely disappointing season for the club, Maghoma has been a key part of Blues’ fight against relegation with five goals and five assists.

Three of Maghoma’s goals have earned Blues nine points from drawing positions against Bristol City, Leeds and Sheffield United at home. The Congolese international has been a consistent performer and is an important player for Blues, now under the leadership of Garry Monk.

Since signing on a free transfer in 2014, the former Sheffield Wednesday and Burton Albion winger has played 114 times for Blues under five different manager’s.

Maghoma also wins the Vital Blues ‘Writers Player of the Season’ with a clean sweep of five out of five.

Editor Rob Wildey said – “Maghoma has been a key player for Blues in a season where many players haven’t performed. For me, he would be the first name on the team sheet. His work rate is always tireless and he always looks capable of creating something, even on a bad day”.
