Jacques Maghoma on course for a Blues return

Jacques Maghoma is in line for a return to the Blues squad travelling to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.

After returning from the African Cup of Nations nursing a minor injury, the Republic of Congo international was deemed too much of a risk to be selected against Fulham on Saturday.

But after a specialised training regime, the 29-year-old is on track to be declared fit for the trip to Hillsborough, a game which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Maghoma is well known for his work rate and energy from wide positions and also offers an added goal threat which could come in handy given Blues’ struggles in the final third.
