‘It’s mind-blowing thinking about how good this kid could be’ – Blues youngster earning rave reviews

|

As City grabbed a much needed – and much deserved – Friday night win under the St Andrews lights, many players stood out in what was an energetic and invigorating display by the Blues.

Though the scoreline read 2-1, the gap between Clotet’s men and a poor-looking Middlesbrough outfit was much bigger as City were on the front foot from the off.

While difficult to single out individual performers – and the whole team effort was worthy of praise – 16-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham really does look an incredible talent.

Playing in a central role, Bellingham glides across the ground with superb footwork and the presence of someone many years his senior.

While not wanting to put any pressure on the youngster – and he’s certainly in a good place to learn his trade, and likely to get plenty of chances at City – he does appear, in the long-term, to have everything needed to play at the highest level.

Indeed, the youngster is thought to have many suitors already, with some of Europe’s top clubs thought to be keeping tabs on Bellingham and, at some point, if he carries on his development – the midfielder will hope to test himself at that kind of level.

Young players develop their game at different stages though, and I’m sure the Blues man will have plenty of ‘up’s and down’s’ to come. Therefore he’s currently in a great place to develop his game. The Championship is a great league, full of different styles, characters and requirements and Blues fans will be hoping they see much more of Bellingham in a City shirt over the coming season’s.

Here’s what was said on Twitter following his performance on Friday:

Many Blues fans were quick to acknowledge Bellingham’s skills, while also hoping they can hold onto the youngster for at least a few years.

Whereas others hope Bellingham can “become a legend”, and told visiting scouts to keep their “hands off”!
