We have had to talk a lot about the goalkeeper issues at the club over the last few days. The fact is that Garry Monk only has one senior keeper involved in the first team squad at the moment, and that will have to change before the start of the season.

There is a possibility that Connal Trueman will be trusted by the manager to take up the gloves but the club’s pursuit of Bartosz Bialkowski would suggest otherwise.

Fans on Twitter are divided on what to do about the situation with some wanting David Stockdale to be back in the mix:

It’s probably best to stay patient on this one. We are making bids for goalkeepers which suggests even with the embargo issue, we are confident of getting in a new number one before the end of the transfer window.

In regards to Stockdale, although he has made a few social media outbursts, he is clearly keeping his options open, and if we are still struggling to sign players as we near deadline day, then perhaps Monk can revisit his situation.

  • lets get real less than 3weeks to go …we can’t sign nobody …. feel sorry for monk but we have been here before …we need new owners quick

  • Reality is that we are again just hoping to stay in this league. Most of the club’s have strengthened, whereas we have as we currently stand- stood still. This summer has been about FFP and the shortcomings of Ren etc. What Monk must be thinking is probably not best knowing. Something is not right at the club which is constantly being spouted by Almajir each week. My hope is that all is under control and Monk can fulfill his plans, but this awful and disrespectful way the fans are being treated by a massive wall of silence, especially the fiasco surrounding Pedersen is not deserved.Clarity is a dirty word sadly at our club.
