We have had to talk a lot about the goalkeeper issues at the club over the last few days. The fact is that Garry Monk only has one senior keeper involved in the first team squad at the moment, and that will have to change before the start of the season.
There is a possibility that Connal Trueman will be trusted by the manager to take up the gloves but the club’s pursuit of Bartosz Bialkowski would suggest otherwise.
Fans on Twitter are divided on what to do about the situation with some wanting David Stockdale to be back in the mix:
I'm quite open minded with the keeper situation if we don't get anyone in then I'm sure @stockogk1313 would still be professional and do a fine job for us should it all end up that way #BCFC

True. Has been one of the better goalkeepers in the Championship over the last few years, which is why I was so disappointed with him last season.

Just keep him on his day he's one of the best in the champ anyway

Put Truman as no 1 with back up from kuzac and Stockdale.

If the embargo continues Monk will have no choice but to keep him. He let in a few he should have saved but he also saved us at times as well I would be more than happy if he stays

It would be disastrous to see him as number one next season. I'd say he's past it but he's only had 2 or 3 decent seasons in his whole life. Our fans are conned by the whole GK of the season with an incredible Brighton defence infront of him, he still shot them in the foot loads

I’d love him to stay and be number 1 I think he needs to lose a bit of weight and come back fitter and prove everyone wrong that hindered him getting down to his near post but can’t fault his kicking and shot stopping.

Verdict:
It’s probably best to stay patient on this one. We are making bids for goalkeepers which suggests even with the embargo issue, we are confident of getting in a new number one before the end of the transfer window.
In regards to Stockdale, although he has made a few social media outbursts, he is clearly keeping his options open, and if we are still struggling to sign players as we near deadline day, then perhaps Monk can revisit his situation.
