Is there life after Isaac.

|

Isaac Vassell is gone and good luck to him. Question is whether it is a good thing for the club and for his teammates.

My opinion is that it is beneficial that he has gone on both counts.

Fans, since his departure last Thursday, have reacted as if the world had caved in, and his winner for Cardiff on Saturday just added to the loss of a supposed great ‘messiah’. Facts are Isaac was not a success at Blues. Redknapp bought him and he delighted the crowds with his searing pace until Huttongate ended it all. During the latter part of last season he produced very little and since Garry Monk’s departure he has, in my opinion, been sulking. Almost giving the impression that he yearned to get away.

Fans saw last Saturday against Bristol City a youngish team with confidence, but woefully missing a striker to compliment Jutkiewicz. My point is that this missing ingredient is not Isaac Vassell. It is no good kidding ourselves that Cardiff got what we needed.

His goal ratio was below unacceptable and again, my feeling is that his body language was to be questioned. As I said earlier I wish him well, but please don’t get caught in the trap of blaming Clotet and co. for selling the vital solution that ended with goals. He simply didn’t produce and we look elsewhere or more realistically promote from within. Bellingham beckons.
