Is Lukas Jutkiewicz the answer to Blues’ problems?

Earlier this evening (August 30th), reports emerged that Birmingham City had reportedly agreed a season-long loan deal for Premier League striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The 27-year-old forward is currently on the books with Burnley where he has made three appearances for the Clarets so far this term, including a start in the League Cup against Accrington Stanley.

With Blues boss Gary Rowett desperate to bring in another striker before the closure of the transfer window tomorrow evening, it now looks as though he has his man, but is he the striker that can end out poor goal scoring run?

In my eyes, unfortunately the former Bolton Wanderers loanee isn’t the striker that the club should have brought in, especially seen as he has never actually scored for the Clarets!

Injured for the Majority of last season, Jutkiewicz never got his chance to enjoy the fantastic run that Burnley went on but in the 35 games that he has played for Sean Dyche’s men, he hasn’t hit the back of the net a single time.

The only real suggestion that he could do well in the Championship is if you take a look at his goal scoring record whilst on loan at Bolton towards the back end of the 2013-14 season, a season most Blues fans will want to forget.

In the 20 games that he played for the Trotters, Jutkiewicz scored seven goals, including one against Blues in that famous last day of the season game when Paul Caddis saved Lee Clark’s side from dropping down into the third tier of English football.

Should he hit that sort of form whilst under the management of former Burton Albion boss Rowett then who are we to judge him, but until it is all confirmed and he starts finding the back of the net in a Blues shirt then we can’t really judge him.

Blues fans, do you think that Lukas Jutkiewicz is the man that the club should have brought in? Will he add those extra goals that we so desperately need? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
