Injured Blues cling to Premiership

The phrase ‘terrible injury list’ has a whole new meaning when used by Steve Bruce.
We know that in some manager’s eyes it means ‘Lee Hendrie’ has a hang nail. For Blues to survive in this division with virtually a reserve squad will be as great an acheivement as Dunkirk or Appolo 13 in rescue terms. The Appollo 13 crew returned un scathed wheras Blues loose players during warm ups.

The casualty list is increadible. Melchiot missed half a season, Cunningham a dozen games, Upson half a season, Clapham, threequarters of the season ditto Lazaridis.

Dunn, Sutton, Forssell, Gray have spent the majority of their Blues careers injured.

Butt has missed half the games this season although half of those were though suspension and ineligability. Jarosik too has a similar record.

Heskey and Pennant may never play in the Premiership for Blues again. Only Damion Johnson, and he has had two suspensions, has remained injury free.

Even Neil Kilkenny who should have been the find of the season has been out crocked for large parts of he brief career.

Blues go into three of the most vital games of their history with 10 or 12 on the injury table. Wednesday’s effort, and it was won without Heskey and Pennant on the field, must be repeated 3 times. The lack of investment particularly in January is biting Blues in the rear end.

We rely on bravery and courage and every team that Pompey and Albion play. Lets hope they have the same corage too.
