In King Gary We Trust!

The excitement is building at St Andrews as Blues went back to training yesterday. The extension of young Koby Arthur’s contract and the increasing likelihood that Clayton Donaldson will stay with the club, the whispers amongst the fans are all about the Play Offs, can we make it under King Gary?

After the huge turnaround since the arrival of Gary Rowett, I’m fully optimistic about Blues’s chances for the season ahead. I see absolutely no reason as to why Blues can’t push for Play Offs this season. Rowett and his back room staff have been given a bit more licence to bring in the players they want and for that reason, I feel the Play Offs is a very realistic target.

When Rowett took over, he inherited a very poor squad which was very low on confidence, the way in which he turned those guys around was incredible. The signings he made were the focal point of our turnaround, injecting a fresh breed of confidence with the likes of Robert Tesche and of course, playing players in their actual position!! Rowett is now able to get the exact players he wants and play them for a whole season, the sky is surely the limit for Blues!!

Our two high profile signings in Jacques Maghoma and Adam Legzdins are two players Rowett knows very well, I completely trust his judgment on these two. He now has a couple of weeks to get some new players into the club (preferably a goalkeeper) and bed them into the Blues squad.

If Rowett can strengthen the Blues side adequately, which I trust he will, the Play offs has to be possible! With the form of Blues since Rowett took over leaving us in the top eight, if the season started in November, a further advantage starting three months earlier and ability to get his intelligent signings in before the season starts, this could contribute to an early promotion push.

As you can tell, my Play Off ambitions are in the trust that King Gary will make some further intelligent signings, those of which I fully expect to happen and I feel Blues could definitely be in the Premier League once again!

Many might think it’s crazy to think we could be a Premier League club this time next year, for me it’s plainly realistic and I couldn’t be more proud to support the club at such a great time!
