With the summer transfer window now having been open for a week, talk among fans has been mostly around the comings and goings at St Andrews.
Reports of David Stockdale leaving, in addition to one or two others, have grabbed the headlines in recent days, but supporters have also been considering who the club could realistically sign in the next few months.
On Twitter, fans were suggesting a wide range of possible targets:
Marcus Madison all day long

I’d go Bartley & Wood from Brentford. Both wouldn’t be really expensive.

Would be expensive but I would go and test the water for Bobby Reid . In desperate need of some creativity .

Jack Marriott

Angus gunn On loam to replace stockdale I’d take Bersant Celina on loan for more pace and creativity Kyle Bartley if fully fit to replace Roberts and finally I’d try and sign hugill to replace juke would work well with vassell and jota #bcfc

Midfielder who can actually pass a ball struggled far to much with the lack of creativity in midfield until monk came in and then a striker who knows where the back of the net is juke is good but not clinical maybe him and vassell up top could be a good partnership

Marcus Maddison-excellent ball playing cam with a deadly left foot, can create and score extremely well

Naki Wells would be good even if on loan

To early to name names yet. “top of the list” should be a midfielder who can link the defence to attack & can make complete passes to players in blue. Second should be a dependable striker which could be hard as we can’t spend money

Ollie McBurnie

Verdict:
Out of those suggested, the one that stands out for me is probably Marcus Maddison. A creative midfielder is precisely what we are looking for and the 24-year-old does fit the bill.
For Peterborough last season he scored 12 goals and provided 23 assists in 53 games. The fact he has been transfer listed as well means he will be looking to leave the Posh, and at 24 years of age, he is got the best years ahead of him.
Reading are also in for him so we will have to move fast if we are to land the playmaker.
