“I’d be very happy”, “scraping the barrel”- Many Blues fans split on latest head coach reports

|

Well, at least he wouldn’t have to move very far for his new job.

And he does, somewhat, fit the job description of what the club want in the new boss. Although I imagine that it will be pretty hard to tempt someone away from a club that is very much on the up (even if they didn’t have to totally finish the job in order to do it, but we’ll let that slide given the circumstances).

According to journalist Alan Nixon one of the names being floated for the Birmingham City managerial spot in the summer is Coventry City boss Mark Robins, although he does later state that Robins is happy with the Sky Blues, so that might make it even trickier to appoint him.

Robins would certainly come into the job with plenty of experience in his back pocket, having started his career in the dugout in 2007 at Rotherham, and his recent success with Coventry would tick the box of knowing how to get promoted.

What kind of manager should the Blues look to appoint?

Young up-and-comer

More experienced

But when the question was put to the Birmingham City fans if they’d want him in charge by @BCFC_News, they were pretty split on the idea.

What about you? What do you make of this news about Robins?

The new favourite is changing nearly every day. I imagine Robbie Fowler will be favourite soon as he’s just left Brisbane. Personally I’d love to have him after the job he did in Oz.

Can’t see why people want Gerrard. He has hardly set Scottish football alight despite all the advantages being Rangers manager gives you. Clearly we are going to be pretty low on funds so a manager used to dealing on the cheap will be necessary. I think the problem will be finding someone willing to work with Dong.

Gerrard has done nothing yet and lets face it being Manager of either Celtic or Rangers you have a 50% chance of winning something. Why could he not start his Managers career at a League 2 or 3 Club ????
