Steve Cotterill saga timeline

The pressure increases on Steve Cotterill after a 2-0 home defeat to Barnsley during which the fans call for his head. The manager used his post match press conference to claim his player are ‘frightened to death’ to play at St. Andrews.

Reports surface that ‘three replacements’ have been ‘sounded out’. One supposedly isn’t interested, two are.

Steve Cotterill claims his squad ‘isn’t strong enough’ and the situation ‘would be the same’ irrespective of who is the manager in a month’s time. Garry Monk is confirmed as ‘one of the three’ potential replacements.

Club directors call meetings scheduled for Wednesday (today) to decide upon their next move. At this stage, it seemed likely Cotterill would learn his fate.

Our research suggests that Xuandong Ren is ready to offer his support for Cotterill. A Vital Birmingham source claims the players will do the same.

Cotterill’s future hangs in the balance with the fans wishing him to be relieved of bis duties and the players seemingly backing him.

  • How totally sickening to hear about player solidarity for Cotterill. How about showing some solidarity towards us paying supporters with a few decent results.Never have i heard such tripe from a bunch of underperforming wasters.

  • Really beginning to think this Cotterill issue is a smokescreen, with news of top brass arriving from Birmingham Sports Holding. They are probably looking at the bigger picture and an exit route with TTA. We are being plied with such tripe by all news agencies who simply cannot get any more information than people such as ourselves.Bottom line is that our club disrespects the fans and also news media who dare to ask questions. Is it any wonder I am increasingly disliking the club that I have always adored.
