I wasn’t lying when I was talking about the influx of Spaniards at Birmingham.
Another one has made his way through the door at St Andrew’s as the club yesterday confirmed the signing of Fran Villalba on a three-year deal.
Oh, and is it just me that’s noticed the latest offer on the club website? I tell you we’re one step away from releasing a red & yellow third kit to top it all off. Not that I’m complaining, if it all works out, then the more the merrier.
So how did the fans react now that the deal was finally over the line? Well, just like the other transfers the club have made this summer, it appears as though this one is a yet another home run with the supporters.

I’m very excited about this! But how do we manage to secure one of Spain’s most exciting prospects on a free transfer?? I don’t understand football anymore

We’re going to create a shed load of chances this season. But for the love of god, can we beg, steal or borrow someone to put them away. Thanks in advance. #kro #bcfc #DeadlineDay

Although there was one slight bit of concern amongst the Birmingham fans, and that’s his name. Despite the hype about his talent, it seems that fans aren’t entirely happy with the prospect of having the word Villa in one form or another on the shirt.
He better not have villalba on the back

Hopefully there will be some way around this, much in the same way Javier Hernandez had Chicharito on the back of his shirt, maybe he can have something else on the back of his. Do you reckon they would have made this kind of fuss if a world-class player like David Villa ever came to St Andrew’s?
