Emyr Huws has been speaking upon his departure from Birmingham City where the youngster made a great impression on the Midlands side. You might even say the club has made quite the impression on him.

At just 20 years old Huws was sent out on loan to struggling Birmingham City; a club with little money but a huge amount of heart. A tall task for a player who`s only other first team experience is a spell at Northampton.

Huws didn`t look fazed though, taking to midfield well and scoring a cracking goal for goal of the season. Huws only other goal for Birmingham was a beautiful volley against Burnley for a memorable 3-3 draw at St Andrews.

It is likely that the young man will continue to grow his reputation, could we even see him rejoin Birmingham next season?

“I thank the Blues and the club for giving me that opportunity… Tactically and mentally. You learn things from each game and you just have to take that into the future.

I appreciate everything the manager has done for me … I just tried to do my best for the club and the team I have enjoyed my time.

If we can just sort the financial side of the club out, Birmingham, maybe in a year but definitely in two years, should be pushing for promotion

The Welshman clearly feeling an attachment to the club after the emotional rollercoaster the whole club went on in surviving the dreaded drop.

And a final thought on that amazing final day rescue.

It was probably the best day of my football career. I couldn`t believe it. I lost my voice!

How did you rate Emyr`s spell with Birmingham?Would you want him back?
