Chris Hughton has not let the efforts of striker Marlon King go unnoticed during the festive period.
King is one of if not the first name on Hughton`s team sheet at the moment and he has repaid the manager`s faith with some important goals for the club.
He was on the mark at London Road last time out when he coolly netted a stoppage time penalty to earn a point, all on the back of having to deal with uncompromising centre-halfs and crowd abuse.
Speaking about the Peterborough game, Hughton told the Birmingham Mail: “It was a tough game for Marlon, but he kept going and never stopped.
“Perhaps one thing I have learned is that your centre-halves at Premier League level have got a little bit more quality on the ball and guile, but in this division you have got Championship-hardened centre-halves who can do all the things necessary to defend.
“You have to be strong as a forward and compete, and Marlon does that.”
