Birmingham boss Chris Hughton was happy with the win over Portsmouth on Tuesday and he was even happier with winning goalscorer Nathan Redmond.
The 17 year old came on as a substitute with the match still at 0-0 and volleyed the ball home on 88 minutes to give Blues a precious win.
It was a win that kept Birmingham in the play off places by lifting them up to third in the table.
‘He’s a wonderful player,’ Hughton said about Redmond. ‘He’s a real talent, we genuinely don’t like to get too carried away about players because we’ve seen it before when you get a player who doesn’t get to the levels you think he is going to.
‘At the moment I think we’ve managed him quite well. Certainly he’s a talent, we’d like to think he’ll be a player for the future.’
