Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton feels that there should not be a problem in keeping young star Nathan Redmond at St Andrews during the transfer window.
Redmond exploded into Blues first team this season and has made a string of good performances which in turn has made him a good prospect for the future, but other clubs have notice this.
The teenager has now been linked with a few top flight clubs although so far there have been no offers made for the player.
nd that`s the way that Hughton would like it to stay.
He told the club’s official website: ‘As with any young player like that there’s always speculation, but 99% of speculation is simply untrue. We have not had any approaches.
‘He’s a talent and it would be no different to any other young talent at another football club whose name is going to get mentioned.
‘He is doing very well here but I think with the games that he’s played you can see he is a 17-year-old that is still developing his game with the good and bad.
‘There’s absolutely no doubt that the best place for him at this moment is Birmingham City Football Club. Any speculation is just that and I think it will continue to be that way.’
