Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton is hoping that his side can keep up the good work after they notched up their fifth win on the bounce against Bristol City on Sunday.

Chris Burke did the damage to the home side with a brace of goals and the win leaves the Blues in 14th place in the table with games in hand, proving that Hughton is beginning to work his magic once again.

Hughton told Sky Sports News: ‘Bristol were right up for the game with a new manager and we had to show a different side to us than was on show in Belgium (against Club Brugge in Europa League) on Thursday.

‘They got in a lot of crosses and we had to defend really solidly. Now there is a hard week ahead with games against Leeds and Brighton.

‘Some of our fans probably came straight to Bristol from Belgium. I’m delighted that we were able to score the final goals in both games at their end because they are hugely important to us.’
