Birmingham City have announced that Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan has resigned on a loan deal which will run until the end of the season.

The Blues fan was desperate to make the move to the team he supported as a boy and his wish has finally come true.

Gary Rowett reiterated earlier this week that there was a big desire to bring Vaughan back to the club and he also highlighted how well the current Terriers striker had done during his short time with the club.

Despite not scoring in his previous loan spell, Vaughan played a crucial part in impressive results that came in December, including the win against Cardiff City and draws against Middlesbrough and Preston North End.

Vaughan’s current contract with Huddersfield comes to an end at the close of the 2015/2016 Sky Bet Championship season and Blues have announced that he will sign a one year contract with the club when his loan spell ends.

Personally I believe that signing Vaughan this early on in the transfer window is a massive boost for us. It is very clear to see that he wants to play for us and he is also someone who can properly challenge Clayton Donaldson for a place up front.

As Rowett said at his press conference on Wednesday, “It`s very difficult when you have someone as unique to us as Clayton Donaldson to find someone else to have a similar impact when he is on the pitch.’
