Looks like fans are searching for scapegoats already.

After their disappointing loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Birmingham fans pointed the finger of blame squarely on one person, and it wasn’t the manager.

Goalkeeper Lee Camp didn’t have the greatest of days as he returned to his old club.

He first allowed Joe Lolley’s opener to go straight underneath him, then found himself poorly positioned to react to Lolley’s cross for Lewis Grabban to score the second of the game, before being failing to come and collect the corner that allowed Michael Dawson to score the third.

I wrote earlier in the summer that I didn’t think Camp was the right choice to be number one this season, and based on Saturday’s performance, it looks like I could be right.

Don’t just take my word for it though, these Birmingham City fans weren’t exactly too impressed with what they saw at the City Ground either. They took to Twitter to express their anger at the goalkeeper’s performance and after this display, you wonder how long he’s got left before Pep Clotet considers making changes.

  • Except Roberts was out of position numerous occasions which leads the first goal Pedersen was too far forward with no cover and no way of getting back. Two of them made the mistakes Camp couldn’t save the shot so maybe you should be blaming Pedersen and Roberts.

If anything the whole defence had a torrid game.

  • Agree with above but the whole set up was wrong against Forest, Clotet was just wrong with selection and tactics…….Seddon should have started in front of Pedersen who was exposed time after time as Villabla never covered which I thought Clotet should have worked out. Disappointing selection…I thought Seddon in front of Pedersen who is not exactly the greatest full back against a out and out Winger would be a nailed on selection because he his full of energy, a good crosser of the ball and can cover too,…strange.

  • We have a real Madrid loanee keeper why bring him in if we ain’t going to use him what I’ve saw of him he looks top notch give the kid a chance to prove he should be number 1

  • What an awful report/opinion.
I don’t understand why only Camp gets the blame when we concede.
Is he the only blues player on the pitch ?
    Where was the midfield?
    Where had the defence gone?
One win and one draw and everyone is claiming a playoff spot.
One defeat and we’re nailed on for relegation.
We’ve got some narrow minded and blinkered fans.

  • Lee camp was largely at fault for the first goal yet if the defence and midfield was organised at the free kick the shot should have been blocked /avoided. Pederson stood off his man gave him 10 yards to run at him then criminally there was two forest players queuing up to head back across camp (which he can’t be faulted for )where was dean or roberts to at least challenge the striker. Dawson header totally unmarked the whole team should take the blame on that they supposedly work on these things in training who picks up who for free kicks and corners etc . This blame camp for everything that goes wrong is out of order . if we all had that mentality stockadale would never play again after his display against Brighton and Portsmouth. We win and lose as a team

  • SUNDERLAND FANS WERE GLAD TO SEE THE BACK OF CAMP AND I FOR ONE WOULD BE DELIGHTED IF HE HAD HIS CONTRACT TERMINATED, ITS SO EASY THE BOARD GOT RID OF THE BEST MANAGER WE HAVE HAD IN A DECADE GET RID OF CAMP USELESS AND COSTS MONEY AND PRECIOUS POINT’S

  • Saved us with some top saves against Brentford and Bristol where we have picked up more points than last season. If he did this in every game he would be playing for a top european team so get things into perspective please.
Compared to last season against the same opposition we are 2 points better off.
