Birmingham went down 3-0 to Sunderland in the second round of the Capital One Cup. A spirited performance from the Blues up until a moment of class separated the sides.
Blues were picked off as they went for the equaliser as would explain the eventual 3-0 scoreline. Jordi Gomez scored a quality goal with the game nearing an end. Otherwise Sunderland hadn’t really have played they way they would of hoped.
Blues were the better team in the first half and had plenty of positive periods in the second. The visitors did have most of the ball but found themselves limited in ideas.
