Emile Heskey has expressed an interest in returning to England after completing his stint with the Newcastle Jets over in Australia.

The striker told Sky Sports

“I can play at any level. I`m open minded.”

It would seem that the former Birmingham man is willing to take up any challenge in a bid to return to England to be nearer to his roots and his family.

He also discussed whether he would be good enough back in England and why he thought he might be.

“It`s hard to measure the standard because they have salary caps ? So you`ll get some players who are of a really good standard – Adam Taggart who I played up front with is now at Fulham.

You`ve also got players going over to Germany so it is a good level, but with the salary cap when you have spent all your money you have to fill in the gaps and there is a little bit of inbalance.”

Emile Heskey’s former clubs include Wigan, Birmingham, Liverpool and Leicester. He has made 563 professional league appearances in his career, scoring 119 goals. That is a goals per game ratio of 0.2.
