“Has to be front runner”, “fits the bill”- Many Blues fans react to Brian Dick’s manager update

|

Well, I suppose this will eliminate some people from the search, something that will bring joy to certain sections of the Birmingham fanbase.

And at the same time, it goes to show the level of ambition that the board are looking to show when it comes to the new boss. The only question now, is will they make the right decision?

After the news came out yesterday regarding Pep Clotet’s imminent departure from the club, there has been plenty of speculation as to who is going to jump in the hot seat moving forward, with the Blues fans having their say on what direction the club need to take.

Now, noted Blues journalist Brian Dick has updated fans on what the club are apparently looking for when it comes to the new man in charge, saying that it “seems like they’re focusing on someone with experience and maybe the odd promotion on their CV”.

Where should the Blues look for their next boss?

The past

Someone new

So with that caveat added, there were plenty of names being thrown around by the fans on social media.

What about you? What do you make of this update?

Would love to see laudrup or Warnock there but best of all Houghton he would take us up for sure if we keep Scott Hogan for sure kro.

There’s a few decent managers been touted, and a few not as good. Whatever happens they need to bring someone in for the long term and not someone using us as a springboard for their own career. We need to continue to stabilise the club and build a team capable of getting promoted. Not much to ask really!!!!!.

There is no chance that our board will give any manager anything other than a short term opportunity to succeed. Their record speaks for itself. They change managers at a rate of once a season. I expect we will be having the same conversation within 12-18 months. My fear is that eventually our luck will turn bad and we will get relegated. I just don’t believe the board are capable of running a football club. But you have to remain optimistic and I will always renew my season ticket and it would be great to be proven wrong.
