The good news just keeps on rolling in at St Andrew’s this summer doesn’t it?
It was announced today that Harlee Dean was to take the captain’s armband for the upcoming season. The role had been left vacant since Michael Morrison departed the club for Reading earlier in the summer.
Speaking to BCFC.com about the appointment, caretaker head coach Pep Clotet said:
“He showed a lot of commitment to the team as well to be on the front foot, to be a brave player too, for the spirit. Those are the values that are very important. And they are very important values into a club like us that has a mentality of working hard and always trying to do your best and trying to be positive.”
Naturally Birmingham fans were keen to give their views on the new skipper, with plenty of fans saying that the club made the perfect choice.
And rightly so. Great leader and a great player

The selection of Dean as Captain is a no-brainer. He appears to be a natural leader on and off the pitch and a decent guy with time for the supporters.

Although amongst all the congratulations for Dean in his new role, there were those whose attentions were drawn elsewhere. With reports coming in yesterday that the Blues could be about to sign Ivan Sunjic from Dinamo Zagreb, fans took the opportunity to push the clubs towards announcing the news that he’d signed instead.
Do you honestly think it’s funny using the ???? emoji

I feel as if need to bring attention to one tweet in particular though. The most creative tweet of, not only today, but possibly of the whole summer goes to this gentleman right here. Jamie Walker, I salute you.
