The club have announced that Paul Robinson will take up a coaching role, following his retirement as a player.

Robbo will be working alongside Richard Beale in the Under 23s, helping to bring through the next generation of talent.

The Twitter reaction to the 39-year-old’s appointment was universally positive:

Robinson will no doubt offer his invaluable experience to the youngsters in the development squad. He currently has the UEFA A and B license, and he will be starting his Continental Pro license next year.

It’s great to see us retain the former defender’s services. He has been gradually getting himself into the coaching side of things in the last two years, but he will now be committed fully to his new duties.

I’m sure, like me, every Blues fans is delighted that he is staying at the club, and we all want to wish the man good luck in his new role.
