It’s the news that most of us have been waiting for.
I say most of us because there were reports a few weeks ago suggesting that some clubs didn’t want the season to get back underway again. But I was firmly in the camp of getting the season going again, so I’m a very happy camper this morning.
The EFL announced last night that the Championship season will resume again with a provisional date set of the 20th June. I say provisional because there are still a few hurdles that need to be cleared before that, such as safety requirements, which is why testing is still in place, but at least we’re one step closer to getting the season back underway.
Will the whole of the 2020/21 season be played behind closed doors?
Yes
No
What the rest of the season holds for the Blues, it’s hard to tell at this point seeing as we’re just about equidistant between the playoff push and the relegation battle, but at least we’ll have something to watch, and you could tell just how excited Blues fans were by the way they reacted on social media.
