Nottingham Forest’s Liam Bridcutt is the latest name doing the rounds on Twitter as a potential signing. It seems to have stemmed from a reply by the Sun journalist Alan Nixon who said it would “make sense” if we went after the midfielder.
There is nothing concrete about our interest, but it hasn’t stopped fans from debating whether signing the 29-year-old would be a good idea:
Honestly he’d be the best centre midfielder at the club so we can’t moan if it’s him, doesn’t lose ball at all

Would be a a good signing and an improvment on what we got. Think hes more holding then just a defensive midfielder. As can keep the ball and pass better than the players we got to https://t.co/l2hLXcmOed now.

Liam Bridcutt would be a great addition under the circumstances. Not blessed with the creativity we need, but can pass the ball well in deep positions. #bcfc

Bridcutt an interesting one. Think he would work well in our system #bcfc

Others think he isn’t what Monk will be looking for in the transfer market:
Liam Bridcutt. Doesn’t really fill me with confidence, considering he’s a defensive midfielder. #BCFC

Maybe Monks looking for a more defensive mid so he can play Mahoney / Jota in the CAM position? Just a thought.

I see Blues have been linked to Bridcutt at Forest.Decent defensive midfielder who would no doubt do a job for us….i know its pie in the sky,but id rather have Ravel https://t.co/I690OF25xm offence to Bridcutt #Bcfc #KRO #transferembargo #Ffp #Transfertalk

To similar to what we have surely there is a more attacking midfielder available

Personally, I rate Bridcutt. He’s an excellent holding midfield player, but Garry Monk is likely focusing on a more offensive player. Creating goals is the biggest problem this team has, and we need someone who can direct the player in central midfield and who can pick out a few passes.
It is not easy to find someone, especially with the limitations on transfers we do have, but there must be a young talent keen to prove himself in the Championship who we could snap up on loan?
