Birmingham City’s Stephen Gleeson has been called up by Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill for the coming international break.

The first break of the 2017 later this month sees Republic of Ireland face Wales in a World Cup 208 qualifier on March 24 and the Aviva Stadium double header also sees them host Iceland in a friendly on March 28.

Brentford’s John Egan and Reading’s Liam Kelly are given their first calls ups for the provisional 39 man squad and O’Neill will make his final selections in due course as there are some injury issues to be cleared up first.
