Stephen Gleeson is confident that Birmingham will bounce back from their defeat against West Brom.

“We need to be strong, We were in a bad position when the gaffer came in and we fought back.

“He doesn`t really speak about any defeats. We look at it on the Monday and then go again on the Tuesday, We need to respond and push on in the league.

An interesting insight into how Rowett is doing things at Birmingham. Assessing what has gone wrong but moving on from negative aspects of the game quickly.

Gleeson feels he knows what is next up for Blues in terms of results.

“The perfect response is to go to Sheffield Wednesday and put in another really good performance.

“That`s what the manager said after the [Albion] game, he said ‘Well done for the second half but it means nothing if we go to Sheffield and don`t get a result there`.

“We need to turn up on Monday, forget about the cup game – we played OK, we just need to move on now.

“We have a big squad, if the gaffer needs to change it he probably will but we are professional footballers, we haven`t had a midweek game in over two months.

“I think the last time we had back to back games in quick succession we lost one and then went to Forest and played really well. Hopefully we can do that again on Tuesday.”

Birmingham are clearly most focused on league matches and it seems like the team have had it made clear to them what is required from the next match.

Under Rowett, Blues respond to defeats remarkably well and I am daring to expect the same again.
