These Blues fans have been reminiscing about a certain Spaniard after a tweet from the club.
Well, seeing as there’s no football going on for the foreseeable future, expect a lot more nostalgic posts to come from the club. Although I hope we don’t get too much of it, otherwise we might start to forget players who are in the current squad.
Yesterday’s flashback post from the club gave us a look back to one of the more exciting games that took place at St Andrew’s, a 3-0 victory over Hull City in the snow back in 2018. It was the Blues’ first of 19 wins under new head coach Garry Monk that would kick start our journey to survival on the final day and it was a little bit of a masterclass from Spanish midfielder Jota, as he scored two goals in terrible conditions.
Although according to this group of fans, those ‘masterclasses’ could have been a little more frequent, as they certainly weren’t impressed with his displays on a more regular basis:
Blues fans in denial that Jota was one of our best attacking players need to accept it. https://t.co/7H0NWq0o6A

when he played well he was fantastic really. Probably too few times that happened, but there's definitely a good player in him.

It’s because of his price tag people didn’t rate him. If we signed him for £1m for example everyone would have hyped him

Was brilliant but never consistent enough. In the championship that ain’t good enough and even if you’re in a bad patch of form you have to be willing to fight for the team and he didn’t. Glad we sold him

Just a shame we had to lose him to the Villa in the end.
