Cheick Keita has reportedly been subject to interest from clubs in Italy and Spain following his season out on loan at Bologna.

The left-back signed for £2m from Virtus Entella in January 2017 but has played just 11 times for the Blues since his arrival.

Fans on Twitter are hoping that the 22-year-old stays:

Keita was allowed to move to Serie A at the beginning of the season by Harry Redknapp, but he played just three times during his spell in Italy.

Yet, it seems his reputation is such that he still remains a sought-after young player. Perhaps Garry Monk should give him a chance to impress in pre-season at least before making a firm decision on his future.

He could do a job for us further up the pitch and also provide cover at left back if need be. Whether he’ll be given that opportunity, we’ll have to wait and see.

  • I don’t think is on a big wage after all he was zolas signing. I don’t see him as a left back maybe left midfield or inside forward don’t know whether he can finish maybe a bit lightweight for the championship going up against the big defences we see here. But demarai Grey was very lightweight but he managed to River his way round powerful defences so I would give him a chance see what he can do there’s always January to sell him on. And you never know we might even make a profit after his played some championship football.

  • I agree keep him. Great pace and extremely skillful. He is a rough diamond that just needs polishing. Garry Monk is the man with the Brasso. One good season at championship level and he’ll be worth £5m. Definitely needs to be employed further up the field.

    • Well said he has a raw ralent that needs to come out gary can get the best out of him ..but if someone comes in for him with a silly offer then sell all players have a price but we have a diamond in this kid k.r.o

  • the reason why he never fitted in the team was because the other managers did¨nt either,
these so called manager s used this poor very talented lad too augement a kind of football he,s not conversent with, how can you buy talent and then sell it on, Monk will sought him out I guarentee it . hotkich
