The transfer of Neil Danns from Colchester to Blues is on hold whilst the two clubs argue over how the £600,000 fee should be paid.

Danns wants to join Blues and the club have been in negotiations with Colchester since the end of last season over the proposed £600,000 move. No headway has been made as the clubs cannot agree on how to pay the fee and fears are rising that a tribunal may be called to sort the matter out.

To complicate things further, Danns agent Tony Finnigan has also revealed that three rival Championship sides are waiting in the wings to snap up the goalscoring midfielder.

‘I’m waiting for everything to be concluded, but I’m not sure what’s happening.

‘This has been going on for a while and it needs to get sorted out. Neil would love to play for Birmingham and I hope he goes there, that would be fine.

‘But there are three other clubs in the same league who also want him, so whatever is holding it up needs to be finalised.’

Danns scored 16 goals last term, effectively securing Colchester’s promotion and is considered a very hot prospect with a bright future ahead of him.
