German Club Set To Step Up Pursuit Of Birmingham Midfielder

|

Bochum have made Robert Tesche their number one transfer target this summer, according to reports from Germany.

Website Westline.de say that the impending departure of their main creative outlet Kevin Stoger means the Bundesliga-2 side will up their efforts to secure our German midfielder.

Tesche spent the whole of last season on loan at Bochum, but it took the 31-year-old until February to establish himself in the first team.

It is believed that the German side don’t want to pay a transfer fee for the player, and would like us to release him from his contract.

The midfielder has a year to go on his current deal at St Andrew’s, and the Birmingham Mail report we are prepared to let him go,

However, it seems that we won’t let him go on a free transfer. The club has Financial Fair Play concerns and will want to maximise the return on any potential player sale this summer.

Whether any other club is interested in Tesche, it isn’t known. If not, it may be best just to get the German off the wage bill.
