Sunderland are set to sign Birmingham`s Craig Gardner in a deal that would bring £5million into the club to help new manager Chris Hughton make a few signings.
Gardner has been the subject of transfer speculation since Blues were relegated into the Championship at the end of last season, but it seems that it`s Sunderland who have had their bid accepted.
The 24-year-old will go to Sunderland upon his return from Holiday to finalise terms and take the all important medical.
Gardner scored ten times last season and Steve Bruce is hoping that he can reproduce that and better for the Black Cats.
