Chris Hughton must have enjoyed watching his side take apart Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat last night, but he does feel they could have won by more.

3-1 in no way flattered City, they fell a goal behind after just four minutes but soon woke up and turned the game around.

Hughton saw his side lifted to 4th in the table after the win and he is certain that the score line could have been so much worse for Donny

‘We could have made it more comfortable, but we got the points and did what we set out to do,’ said Hughton to the Birmingham Mail.

‘We felt that as they had had a midweek game – and it was unusual for us not to have one – the longer it went on we would get stronger.

‘That we did, but of course you have got to make sure you don’t concede in that period of time and the Boaz Myhill save was an important one because at 2-1 it would have given them a lift.

‘But I still would have been very confident that we had chances as the game progressed, and we did, and in the end we could have had even more goals.’
