Wes Harding performed heroically against Fulham yesterday. He kept Ryan Sessegnon quiet, whilst also providing the assist for Lukas Jutkiewicz’s opening goal.
The 21-year-old had struggled a bit against QPR in the previous fixture, but he came back roaring with a consummate display versus the Cottagers:
Fans on Twitter were quick to credit Wes for his performance:
Every single player was a contender for the Man of the Match award at St Andrews today- but a special mention for Wes Harding who came up against the inform Ryan Sessegnon and saw him off who was your Man of the Match #BCFC

@Jmags19 was MOM but all players worked hard. Massively impressed with Wes Harding considering who he was up against, looks to have a bright future if he keeps learning and improving

Wes Harding all day long. He is a future superstar. Speed and strength from the back is a pleasure to watch. But the whole team yesterday smashed it. Talk about getting it right. #kro

You sure he was playing I didn't notice him. If he was Harding might want to empty his pockets this morning.

Verdict:
Huge credit has to go to Garry Monk. He could have easily taken the right-back out of the firing line and selected the more experienced Jonathan Grounds instead, but he didn’t.
The manager has shown great faith in the young defender since he was appointed in March, and I think he is a dead cert to be a regular starter next season.
No doubt, the full house inspired him to play to the best of his ability, and it is exciting to see how he will develop his game at the club over the next few years.
