Fulham v Blues – Away Trip May Suit Rowett’s Men

A trip to London is always one for the diary. Fulham, particularly, is one of my favourite away days. Craven Cottage is a proper football ground and Blues fans always seem to go in their droves. Tomorrow, 3,700 Brummies will take to Southwest London in the hope that Blues can return to winning ways.

After Blues` recent struggles at St. Andrew`s, an away fixture is welcome. Fulham tend to adopt an attacking style of play which may suit Blues` counter-attacking tendencies.

Gary Rowett`s men are 2nd in the Championship`s ‘away` table having only lost once on the road, a deserved 2-0 reverse at highflying Hull City. Fulham, managed by Kit Symons, have been inconsistent this term, they are 11th.

Fulham`s last two games summarise their season so far, one win and one defeat. Last weekend, they blew Bristol City away with a 4-1 win at Ashton Gate. That was followed by a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Burnley on Tuesday evening.

Fulham`s favoured forward partnership, Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack, have 18 goals between them. Michael Morrison and Jonathan Spector, Rowett`s likely central defensive partnership, will have a busy afternoon.

But make no mistake about it, with Blues` away form still in pretty good nick, this game is winnable. But the team must play as a unit to stop the host`s firepower.

Here`s hoping for the three points to kick start my Birthday weekend in London! See you all at the Cottage.
