Fresh Interest in Buying Birmingham City

Another UK based consortium has entered into the fold in the takeover saga surrounding Birmingham City. Headed by Mike Farnan and Adam Pearson. The pair also headed a bid to buy Leeds United.

Mike Farnan is a former director at Manchester United. Adam Pearson has enjoyed spells with Derby County (chairman) and Hull City (head of football operations); Pearson currently owns rugby league side Hull FC.

The pair believes Birmingham are a “major club” with a huge catchment area. It would appear the consortium is concerned with buying a club in a major location in order to build the team and thus in turn fill a stadium.

For Farnan and Pearson to purchase the club they would have to follow much the same process that other interested parties have had to follow. They may have a fair chance should they wish to purchase the club as there have been no new developments on the ‘advanced talks` Jeremy Wray revealed to the media.

It would appear that this consortium is attempting to force through some progress, which hasn`t had good success in the past. Potentially interested parties may be getting tired of the drawn out process that BIHL continually subject them to.

Meanwhile Lee Clark is continuing to work to his small budget. Birmingham are now signing players though, following the news that Zigic and Burke will both leave the club.
