Birmingham manager Lee Clark has made it clear that he expects Blues to be playing Championship football next season.

Birmingham sit in the final relegation place having not won at home for seventeen games, they are a point from safety but still need four points to make sure they stay up.

Clark leads his men out to a battle with Wigan on Tuesday which will be the final game at St Andrews this season, they need at least a point and then a win at Bolton on the final day of the season and Clark is confident that his side can do that.

Clark told Sky Sports: ‘We’ll get four points in the next two games and, if the first three come tomorrow night, that’s brilliant.

‘But we’ve certainly got to make sure that, when we go to Bolton on Saturday afternoon, our destiny is in our own hands (a point against Wigan will take them out of the bottom three).

‘If we do that, we will be in a fantastic position. We’ll do what I believe we can do and stay in the League.’

Clark also ended speculation that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season when he said: ‘No, never.(will he leave)

‘I’m from the East End of Newcastle, we don’t walk away from anything.

‘I’ll sit down and talk to people. Hopefully I’ll be sitting down at a Championship club.’
