Reports in the Daily Express today claim that Birmingham City have put a £5million price tag on Blues striker Emile Heskey.

The 28-year-old former England hitman is said to be wanted by Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic despite the Blues board saying they don’t have to sell any of their players. Gold has said that Heskey will be ‘awesome’ in the Championship but a bid of £5million would certainly test their resolve to keep the best players, especially as Heskey has yet to comment.

£5million for a striker who scored four goals last season? Sounds like very good business to me.
