It is being reported that Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is set to test the resolve of Premier League new buys Burnley for winger Michael Kightly.

Blues boss Rowett is currently in the market for a winger and it is believed that Burnley boss Sean Dyche is willing to let Kightly leave for a cut price fee which is something that has caught the attentions of the former Burton Albion manager.

The Championship club have been linked with Charlton Athletic wide man Jordan Cousins and former Hull City forward Sone Aluko in the past few weeks but now it looks like they have turned their attentions to former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Kightly.

At the age of 30, Kightly would be perfectly suited to the Championship and with Birmingham reportedly stepping up their search for a left sided midfielder, the Clarets man could be the person that fits the bill perfectly for them.

However, it is also understood that Kightly, who was part of the team that won the division last season, is keen to partner up with former boss Mick McCarthy once again, with the pair enjoyed a successful spell together at Blues’ local rivals Wolves.

Blues fans, would you be interested in the club signing Michael Kightly? Would his previous injuries worry you if we signed him? Let us know in the comment section down below!
