Former Birmingham City striker Marlon King, 34, has lost his appeal in court for a dangerous driving sentence.

The Jamaican international committed a crime of dangerous driving while he was eating ice cream at the wheel and causing a ‘pile up’ on the A46 in Nottinghamshire. He was proven guilty last May.

As well of getting a sentence of 18 months, he has also been banned from driving for three years. It was reported by a police officer that King was travelling around a roundabout at 30-60mph over the limit which caused a pile up and left two men injured in which they had to be cut from their cars and airlifted to hospital.

This is not the first incident King has been involved in as he’s been in trouble with the law before on many different occasions. He was accused of head-butting then Hull City team mate Dean Windass in a casino.

As of October 2009, he had 14 different offences which consisted of driving bans, community service sentences, theft and criminal damage. The most famous crime he is known for is for assaulting two women, sexually and physical assault.

The former Wigan, Watford and Hull striker scored 31 goal in 67 games for the Blues and proved to be a hit amongst the fans, scoring 18 goals, helping the team to 4th and a play off semi-final place in his first season.

His second season was thwarted with injury but still managed to net 13 goals in the first half of the season. The driving incident occurred while under contract at Blues and shortly after was released and joined Sheffield United on a free transfer.
