Former Manchester United star potential target?

According to unconfirmed reports on social media site Twitter, former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov is in talks with two unnamed Championship sides, could one of them be Birmingham City?

It is no secret that Blues boss Gary Rowett is seeking a striker to challenge current star forward Clayton Donaldson and with Berbatov now out of contract, he couldn’t be a target for Blues, could he?

The 35-year-old striker had previously been linked with a move to Blues’ local rivals Aston Villa, and with Roberto Di Matteo also reportedly in the market for a striker, a move to the Midlands could be on the cards.

Now, we are not saying by any means that Blues and Villa are the two clubs who are supposedly in talks with the out-of-contract forward, but it wouldn’t surprise us if both sides were preparing audacious bids to bring the Bulgarian international into their squads.

Last season, the former Fulham striker was playing for Greek side PAOK Salonika and he endured a fairly mediocre season, scoring just four goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

This is something that is completely out of the blue and it is probably just a load of nonsense, but, like everything in football, you never know and if current Blues goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak was to have a word in his ear about how great Blues are, you never know!

Personally, I wouldn’t like to see Blues bring the forward in because it would be a waste of money added onto our wage bill and I don’t think he would add that much to our squad so Villa, you are welcome to him!

Blues fans, would you like to see Dimitar Berbatov move to Birmingham City? Let us know in the comment section down below!
