Karen Brady has described her treatment, at times, as a publicity stunt and claims she was portrayed as everything from a ball buster to a bimbo.

Brady took the top job at Birmingham City Football Club at just 23 years old, although the media were not told this at the time.

It was, and still is, mainly a mans world but Brady was not deterred from developing her skills and reputation within the world of sport.

The former Birmingham Executive was speaking in her maiden address to the House of Lords of which she is a life peer of the conservative party.

She went on to explain that through good governance and leadership she aimed to use her role at West Ham to incorporate positive effects to the community surrounding the club.

West Ham are set to create 700 jobs by moving stadium and have various employment schemes in place to help ambitious young workers into top employees of the future.
